Jenie Gao Studio is an anti-gentrification arts business. But what does this mean in practice? It means:

• Understanding the cultural context that we're creating artwork within.
• Planning for the full lifespan of an artwork and how the local community that lives with it relates to the art.
• Hiring local vendors and contractors as often as possible, including on projects with broader ranging partners, to ensure that art projects have local significance and investment in the local ecosystem.
• Improving a place with and for diverse peoples who are already making their communities vibrant.
• Focusing on shared, beneficial outcomes, that fulfill the needs of artists, community members, and institutional stakeholders.

Jenie Gao Studio is available for the following types of commissions:

• Public art commissions. Contact directly or find JGS on public art rosters including Burnaby Public Art Roster, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Public Art Roster, Oregon Public Artist Roster, and others.
• Original artworks including paintings, prints, and carved woodblocks (limited availability).
• Arts licensing, including for fabrications.
