Nourishment is a reflection on the transition of the seasons, when the waxwings return to Wisconsin and people and animals alike partake in the harvest. Flocks of waxwings fill the trees to feast on bright fruits and people collect cranberries and cherries by the waterside.
Nourishment is equal parts necessity and joy. The creamy sun stays cool on our skin. And though this liveliness may be followed by dormancy and we may question ourselves for living here on the coldest of days, it is memories like these that warm and sustain us.
